Finding a Good Repair Facility
For those of you who are schoolteachers, you will
understand what I am about to relate. You lay out a lesson plan to
teach a particular topic, for example, how to solve a basic algebraic
equation. You proceed to follow the plan, working with your students
until you feel they understand the necessary mathematical principles. A
couple of weeks pass and, low and behold, you discover that there are
several people who have somehow forgotten what they appeared to have
learned! They look at you like you're speaking another language, and
you realize you have to start over with the basics again. Frustrated,
you repeat the same process until you think they have it, and low and
behold, it happens again. Sound familiar? I understand your plight. I
get the same question from my readers over and over: "HOW DO I
FIND A GOOD AUTO REPAIR SHOP?! WHAT DO I LOOK FOR?!"

State
and Maintenance Inspections:
Over the past several years, the complaints from people who come to me
with car problems related to maintenance inspections is

qualified repair shop for your vehicles. Don't qualify shops based on
the lowest prices, the best coupon deals, or a convenient location. Let
me illustrate my concern with a story related to me by a distraught
woman just last week.

Computer
Diagnostics - Necessary Tool for Repairing Today's Complex Cars
Your car has 'some form' of a computer that operates the
performance system. I use the description 'some form' because computers
have evolved over the years. Consequently, depending on the age of your
car, it could have one of any number of operating systems.
Computers generate signals called data streams. These streams of data
flow through the operating system of your car at all times. The computer
is continually analyzing the information and making adjustments to the
engine thousands of times per minute. When a problem occurs, the
vehicle's computer system is supposed to log a trouble code in the
vehicle's computer memory. The problem shows up either in the form of a
drivability problem or a lit check-engine light on the dashboard. It
could be a bad sensor, malfunctioning electrical or mechanical
component, or damaged wiring and/or electrical plugs.
