New Emission Testing

Starting October 1st

The State Of New Hampshire has finally given a date for the final phase of Emission Testing. All vehicles from 1996 to present will need to be tested for emissions to pass starting on Oct. 1st, 2007. At this time, we are only testing 2002 & newer vehicles.

What this means to you, is that when your car is tested, the Check Engine light cannot be on and the computer monitors have to be in a ready state. If someone clears the code right before inspection, the monitors will not be ready. Therefore, even though the light is out, you still will not pass inspection.

If your car does pass the Safety part and fails the Emissions part, you will only get your monthly number on the windshield and not your complete sticker until the Emissions problem is resolved. For this the State gives you 90 days to get the Emissions problem resolved.

Get Ready for Winter!

Over 70 percent of motorists admit that they did not have their cars winterized in preparation for inclement weather, according to a survey conducted by the Car Care Council. Fall Car Care Month is an excellent time to take advantage of vehicle inspections to make sure your car is ready for the cold weather.

It's not too late to prepare your vehicle for harsh winter weather. The Car Care Council recommends the following tasks be performed by a do-it-yourselfer or professional automotive technician.
